A lot of methodologies for trying to deal with the symptoms of panic attacks and anxiety related issues have not worked very well for many of those who suffer. Few therapists actually have the knowledge and understanding of and anxiety disorders to provide effective guidance, so counseling and group therapy, for example can take a long time to produce any meaningful results.
Although there are a number of products on the market available developed to address anxiety, no single medication is successful for every person who suffers from panic attacks. In addition, you can wind up feeling much worse than one felt before taking the medication. There are always possible uncomfortable and dangerous side effects from using medications to address the symptoms of panic attacks.
EFT does not include traditional therapy or medication to address panic attacks and anxiety. Instead, it focuses on alleviating symptoms by accessing your body’s energy systems. Much like acupuncture, specific energy points on the body are targeted and tapped or stimulated to release tension and foster peace of mind.
Where acupuncture requires the use of needles to get its results, The Emotional Freedom Technique does not involve the use of invasive methods. What goes on is the practitioner gently tapps key points while repeating a phrase related to the symptoms that are present.
People who suffer from a wide variety of physical, mental and emotional conditions, including panic attacks can get help from EFT. This is brought about not only by calming the mind and freeing one from feelings of anxiety and stress, but also by decreasing physical pain and muscle tension. The frequency that one has panic attacks is reduced by both the physical and emotional aspects of EFT. You will also discover that you are able to put a stop to the attack right when you find yourself becoming stressed or anxious.
The more you practice The Emotional Freedom Technique, the stronger its effects – the benefits build up. Even though the benefits do build up, it is possible to find immediate relief from panic attacks using The Emotional Freedom Technique. And as you continue to practice the technique, you will find yourself having more and more control over your symptoms. It is even possible to completely eliminate your panic attacks within a period of a few weeks.
You do not have to see somebody who practices EFT in order to benefit from this method. You can practice EFT on yourself. There are quite a few books and DVD’s that can be purchased that easily show how to locate and stimulate your energy points. However, to the panic attack sufferer it may be a good idea to consult a qualified person who practices EFT to get optimal results without stressing over having to learn how the Emotional Freedom Technique system works.
Manage Stress Effectively With These 4 Steps
Stress is a common occurrence in every day life. In fact, we all need a certain amount of stress for optimal personal growth. This necessary amount of stress is often labelled “positive stress”. Eliminating stress entirely is not conducive for personal growth. Instead, active management of all that stress is much more recommended. Here are 4 steps that will hopefully aid you in your stress management.
1. Assess the situation.
Whenever you’re starting to feel bogged down, stop right there. Don’t gloss over your problems. Instead, reevaluate the situation you’re in. What’s causing all that stress? Point out the positive side of that situation (there usually is a positive), and inject some humor into it. Then recognize what you can and cannot change. Change what you can, and remember that while you cannot change it, you can change how you perceive it.
2. Partition your life.
Truth is, personal and professional lives do not mix. So try not to bring your stress from work back home, or vice versa. Instead, fill your spare time with enjoyable activities that are unrelated to your stressors. Sing a song, play your guitar, engage in sports activities with your buddies, enjoy the company of friends or a loved one — doing things that you enjoy without bringing stressors into the picture can greatly add perspective and help reduce stress.
3. Manage your life.
We don’t realize it but stress is often induced by a lack of control, of our environment in particular. Actively schedule and plan your day, with enough time in between so as to not have to be in a constant hurry. Set priorities, goals and milestones and stick to them. Try not to multitask too often -- instead, complete one before moving on to the other. You'll find that with organization and planning, you'll feel less agitated.
4. Moderate your physical reactions.
First, note the typical physiological reactions that hit you when you’re stressed — do you experience shortness of breath? A quickening of your heart rate? Tensing at the back of your neck? Note all that and learn to moderate it. When it hits you, practice certain techniques. For example, slow, calculated and deep breathing can bring your heart and breathing rate back to normal and there are many other relaxation techniques out there that help reduce muscle tensions. I don’t particularly endorse medications as a method of stress reduction as they are merely a short-term solution. Moderating these reactions on your own can benefit you in the long run.
Personal growth is an amazing part of our life.. and at the same time, it can be incredibly stressful. Utilize these 4 steps in managing your life and let positive stress work wonders for your personal development!
Dog Walking – No Better Way to Reduce Stress
Dog Walking is a great way to reduce stress. You have such a superb time, the most wonderful friend, who never stresses you, has a go at you, always wants to go with you. It means you are more likely to go out and meet others. In addition it helps with weight loss through steady non impact exercise and helping from an inspirational / happinessstand point, thereby reducing stress. Nothing is betterthan passing time outdoors with man’s (or woman’s) best friend. Additionally you can also meet many interesting people and have something to talk to them about. Discussing your problems and issues, is great for decreasing stress.
Dog Walking is work our that anyone can do. What’s superb about it is that you can do it unaccompanied or with somebody. If you do not have anyone, the dog supplies great company. It’s simple to do, and requires no special equipment, apart from a dog, a lead and comfortable shoes. It also costs nothing, in fact you can make money out of it. In addition it can be done just about anywhere, you could even become a dog walker in London where it is common.
Dog walking has many benefits. It burns calories, it helps with weight control. One hour of dog walking ( that is you with the dog!) will burn between 200 and 300 calories, depending on your weight. The heavier you are, the more calories you use. Walking does not pressure your legs and ankles, unlike jogging, which can injure your joints and bones.
In fact it really helps the knees. The dead of dog walking encourages cartilage growth and the flow of synovial fluid inside the knee. It also strengthens the muscles that protect the knee.
Because dog walking is weight-bearing it also aids builds the muscles that shield the hips. At the same time it strengthens bones therefore reducing the probability of bone splintering due to osteoporosis. By building the core muscles of the spine and abdomen, dog walking helps reduce the possibility of getting low back pain.
The raised effort required for dog walking helps the heart to pump more efficiently. This helps reduce blood pressure with the subsequent reduced risk for stroke and heart attack.
Dog walking increases the respiratory rate (breathing rate), promotes increased flow of oxygen to the rest of the body and also helps eliminate the build up of carbon dioxide. A major plus for you and the dog is improved energy.
There is some evidence that exercise such as dog walking raises endorphin levels which helps relieve pain, decreases serum cortisol levels which helps reduce anxiety (as does having animals around, so a double benefit), and may also reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
So how do I {kick off with} start dog walking.
Pretty simple. The first thing is to make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes. If you suffer from flat feet, you should use orthotics.
Do not try to do too much at the very beginning. Build up gradually increasing the amount you walk. A great goal is 10,000 steps per day, which is approximately 5 miles. If that seems like a lot, note, most people already walk about 3,000 to 5,000 steps a day during the course of a normal day. Do not forget that many dogs, who evolved from wolves still have the same characteristics, require to walk over 5 miles a day. Most have the strength for fifteen or more miles a day.
Depending on your fitness, you can build up from low levels. Only one problem, No dog. Not a problem, enquire around, there are many individuals who do not have ~sufficient time for walking their dog. Increasingly, during this credit crunch period, dogs are being handed into dog charities, so either volunteer for dog walking or why not take a dog home with you.
Strapped for cash, why not help out people who do not have time for dog walking and looking after their pets and become a pet sitter and cat sitter.
How fast for your dog walking will depend on you and your dog. Start cautiously. A medium rate, you can walk up to about 2-3 miles an hour. A good rule of thumb is that you should be breathing faster and feel your heart rate going up but still be able talk comfortably. You need to make sure that the dog is not pulling you, its not good for him and it is more tiring for you.
Please note, it’s important to keep up your dog walking routine, for both you, the dog(s)! Enjoy yourself – it will reduce your stress.

Take A Panic Symptoms Test & Discover If You Are About To Be Overcome By A Panic Or Anxiety Illness
Fairly unbelievable but it’s only in these recent times that anxiety disorders are increasing. When I say anxiety disorders you can group panic disorders & panic attacks & anxiety attacks together. They are no different in symptoms or severity.
Is there a reason that these attacks are much more common these days? I’m sure there is & I’m sure the scientific community will happily produce a number of factors they see as responsible. It doesn’t make them any less serious or scary for the victim.
These anxiety disorders have a wide range of symptoms and you may not even know you are a sufferer. None of us are born sufferers but when they strike they strike suddenly & with venom. You can take an anxiety symptoms test & identify whether you have, or are going to have a disorder.
Usually a simple anxiety symptoms test will be series of tick boxes that you either answer yes or no. You can then take the advice given about your score at the end of the test. After this you can decide whether you need to take any further steps to combat these disorders.
You might find a couple of the anxiety symptoms test questions to be a bit simple. However, they are designed that way to form a complete picture. Ticking yes to one or two questions may not seem overly serious but it depends on which questions you have ticked.
Take the question “Do you find it hard to sit still, & need to fiddle”. I often feel like this but I don’t see it as a warning symptom. But couple that with the question about a rapid heartbeat and shallowness of breath & you are looking at a high chance you are a victim. If you think there’s even a slight chance you are suffering an anxiety or panic disorder test yourself now.
It might even be a relief to discover what exactly has been bothering you for a while. Rest assured that you are not helpless if you are a sufferer. Anxiety attacks can be beaten in several ways.
When my wife was struck with a panic attack (while driving our car of all places!) we eventually turned to a method called PanicAway. After trying many other treatments & remedies this is the only product that worked.

A spa holiday was the best decision i have made in the past 10 years!
Having a family of more than three children is a great feeling and seeing them grow is even better. However you will also experience a little stress just like I have. I have been married for thirty years and I have four children. Because they are all getting older as well averaging at 20.
So I decided it was time to have some me time, my wife agreed I needed some time off work and away from the family. She set up a Spa holiday for me. I couldn’t believe it, at first I thought they were for women. However my wife promised me that i would have a great time. If all went wrong i thought that i could just go into Thailand and do tourist things, at least she booked a good location.
I arrived in Thailand and was picked up by a car and taken to the Spa. It was phenomenal, now I don’t know what Spa Hotels are supposed to look like, but this just looked like pure luxury. The rooms were massive. I couldn’t believe the overall size of the rooms. I was taken to a small lagoon and had a drink brought to me, i just relaxed here for an hour and had a chat with the man next to me. This was an amazing site.
I went in for many massages, the favourite I have to say was the fusion stone massage, I was placed on my front and some heated round stones were placed on my back. These stones covered me in warmth and made my back feel like jelly. I got back to my family and felt good about myself, i spent much time with them over the next few weeks.
I did make sure that the following month I booked one of these spa holidays for my lovely wife to thank her for sending me out there for the week. I would definitely recommend Thailand Spa Holidays.

Reduce Your Stress and Learn To Be Happy
Taking too much of anything is negative for the health. A little bit of stress is actually good for us, as it could serve to help you function at your best. However, give yourself too much stress and it could take a physical, as well as mental, toll to your body. Stress should be managed in order for anxiety or depression to be prevented.
You may be asking yourself how should I do this then? The following are tips and advice to help prevent and manage stress.
Write it down, schedule it out, and above everything else, try to relax.
It is best to write down all the things that seems to be overwhelming. You will find an organized-to-do-list much easier to keep track of than having errands all piled up in your head. Writing down the tasks, and putting a specific schedule and time to do them, helps anyone manage activities one piece at a time. Crossing out an activity that has already been accomplished is very rewarding and could actually help you feel more relaxed when busy doing the other tasks at hand.
Relax,focus, and take it slow.
At least, try not to expell too much energy on activities that are really not priorities. This is so that your energy is not so easily expended on some tasks that are not so important to you, at least for now.
Delegate, delegate, delegate.
You need not do everything all at once, and you need not do all of your tasks on your own. Ask for guidance, get help, or pay for help. When there is a feeling of being overwhelmed that is cropping up, hire someone to weedwack the yard or have grandma come over for your children. The feeling of being pressed to complete something on time will somehow be eliminated if tasks are delegated. It takes a load off unnecessary worry and anxiety. Moreover, it is easier checking up on how things are going, than worrying yourself sick doing everything on your own, all at once.
make sure to give yourself a well deserved reward.
Give yourself a pat on the back. Furthermore,it is completely necessary that before getting on to the next tasks and activities, no matter how big or small, to acknowledge your efforts and accomplishments. It reduces stress and could even put you in a better mood for doing the next task.
Give yourself a break.
You need it to be more focused. It is necessary to give yourself a ten to fifteen minute break during your work. Go visit a café nearby, take a brisk walk, or do anything in getting your mind off work, this will be very beneficial for you. This is necessary to refresh and recharge. Believe it or not, you can also stay in your work and sit with your eyes closed as you visualize a peaceful landscape or a relaxing scene. Hum your favorite relaxing tune if you like. This frees the stress from your muscles and your mind.
Relax and be cool. Doing so makes you healthier, happier, and a lot more productive.
Teen Stress
Yes, it’s true. Children suffer from stress; most notably teenagers.
Teenage stress can come from almost anywhere. Whether it is because their boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with them or because they have had an acne breakout on their face, the teen years can include real stress. These can sound like little things to an adult, but to a teenager they can seem like the end of the world.
A child can be as susceptible to stress as an adult. It’s just that stress can be caused by different factors. In the adult, it could be the loss of a job or the big promotion that they just received. Although these experiences are some way off for your teenager that doesn’t mean they don’t experience stress.
It could be that that big fight they had with their best friend or even the development of acne could cause the level of stress that an adult would have when they experience a loss of a child. Compared, these things may appear unrelated, but what is important to a teenager may not be the same as what is important to an adult. So something than seems small to the adult, like getting rid of acne can be a huge issue for the teenager.
Also, teenagers can be very tough on themselves; whether or not they are striving for perfection with their grades or with sport, this can be a stress producer in itself. The negative way they may see themselves or talk about things does not help with stress either.
Stress management skills should be learned by teenagers as well as adults. Being able to control one’s stress level can improve one’s health and prevent health related problems, such as heart disease, later in their life.
How can teenagers reduce their levels of stress?
Find an enjoyable pastime. When you enjoy what you are doing, you stress levels reduce. So, involvement in sports and hobbies can make a huge difference in a teenager’s stress levels. Other things that a teenager could do to help reduce their stress level are to improve their eating habits and to get a regular amount of exercise. They need to also learn how to relax.
Teenagers may have quite busy schedules. They may play sports, have part-time jobs or be caught up in a variety of things. Learning how to relax can prove to be very beneficial to them. A teenager may just need to take a break from everything sometimes, just like an adult. Setting aside regular me time helps a lot.
Remember that teenagers suffer from stress even though they are not adults yet. There are many ways a teenager can be helped to lower stress levels with a parents help. These could be as follows
- Be sure to really listen to your teenager. They may not realize it but they are giving you signs. If you observe things becoming too much regardless of whether it is sports or social activities try to gently step in before it gets out of control.
- Be supportive of your teenager. Encourage them to get involved in a range of activities like sports or social groups.
- Show the way. If you are using stress management tools, you will be providing a model behavior for your child. Even if you think they aren’t, they are paying attention.
At the end of the day, give your child support helping them however you can. We tend to handle stress better because we are adults. A teenager may find that the stress can be too overwhelming and that they don’t know how to handle it, which can lead to even more of a dangerous situation.
